Frontis. portrait; 48pp.
This book is from Hodgson's autobiography written in 1974, of which no part has previously been printed. When Herbert Hodgson was out of work in the 1920s, his union sent him to see Manning Pike, who had undertaken the supervision of the printing of "Seven Pillars of Wisdom". He agreed to help and spent the next three years printing the Subscriber's Edition of "Seven Pillars of Wisdom". This is a fascinating first hand account of the printing, the problems encountered with the proofs and the plates, and Lawrence's visits to the workshop. After the "Seven Pillars of Wisdom" had been finished, Hodgson was recommended for a position at the celebrated private press at Gregynog.
