Frederick Bligh Bond [1864-1945] an architect, joined the Somerset Archaeological and Natural History Society in 1903. Interested in all aspects of the Arthurian legend, he took part in the excavation of Glastonbury Abbey. In addition to normal archaeological techniques he used psychism and spiritualism including communications by automatic writing to interpret the ruins. In 1926 he moved to America.
